Our founder and owner Kerry, has been a hairstylist and salon owner for over 24 years. She began losing her hair due several autoimmune illnesses, breast implant illness, Covid-19 and heavy metal toxicity. Kerry then started researching alternative hair options. She became so fascinated with wigs that she took several classes to learn how to build and design them herself. Using her extensive experience as a hairstylist she also learned how to properly color and cut the pieces she created. This is where she discovered not only a means of personal healing, but also a profound empathy for others navigating similar experiences.

New Wave Hair Co. was born when Kerry moved to the coast in North Carolina. The water has always brought her a sense of peace and comfort and she found this environment has provided much needed healing both physically and mentally from her illnesses. Kerry knew from her own journey how daunting the task of purchasing a wig can be, so her goal was to create a welcoming space that could provide comfort, knowledge and support to those seeking alternative hair options.
